The permanent exhibitions
present the history of education in town-schools, and education in Oslo from 1890 to the late 1970ies.
The museum has authentic classrooms from 1900, the 1950- and 1970ies, and other school rooms from different eras. You can experience the old schools’ cafeteria, the medical doctor and the dentist´s office.
Topics that are given special attention are the health care of school-children and the differences in teaching of girls and boys.

Norway was under German occupation during the 2.world war. The exhibition gives voice to the experience of the children and adults of Oslo. How were their lives and schooling affected by the Nazi-occupation?
